Emergent and Persistent Positive Outlier Schools: What Accounts for Better Student Outcomes Over Time?
NYKids’ 20th Anniversary Study is entitled “Emergent and Persistent Positive Outlier Schools: What Accounts for Better Student Outcomes Over Time?” This cross-case report features interview and focus group data gathered among 182 participants including teachers, leads, support staff, and family members across seven positive outlier schools previously studied by NYKids. The report details a range of promising practices, adaptations, and innovations used by educators in these schools to help promote above-expected outcomes over time.
