NYKids’s Partnerships with TVHS and Chatham with support from AIR
NYKids has been regularly sharing updates about our work with Tech Valley High School and Chatham Central School District in addressing critical equity issues. This work is supported by the American Institutes of Research (AIR) Equity in Education initiative focusing on addressing equity issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic across the United States.
AIR RPP Convening
This week, Dr. Kristen C. Wilcox, NYKids Director and Associate Professor in the Educational Policy and Leadership Department at University at Albany’s School of Education and doctoral candidate and NYKids Research Associate, Maria I. Khan, will be attending a convening hosted by the American Institutes for Research in Chicago, IL. At the convening, the NYKids team will be joined by our partners: Dr. Amy Hawrylchak, Principal of TVHS, and Sarah Fiess, Coordinator of School Outreach and Data Analysis from Tech Valley High School; and Dr. Lisa Ruud, Director of Academics, and Kate Jarrard, Coordinator for Grant Funded Programming and Accountability from Chatham Central School District.
Together, NYKids, Chatham, and TVHS teams will be presenting in the RPP Peer Group session to highlight key successes and innovations that have been helpful in our local RPP’s growth.
This convening brings together RPP network partners from across the country to share their diverse work focused on efforts on and for equity in education. Stay tuned as we report on our work as well as what we learn from other RPPs in California, Florida , Tennessee, Texas and Washington.
